Episode 1 Pilot

I'm not going to go into details about this episode but i will give you the episode highlights

1. Jon Commits suicide

2. Rome try to commit suicide by overdosing

3. after hearing the news of Jon's Suicide Rome decides to keep living

Episode 2: Band Of Dads

Episode Highlights

1. Maggie Decides not to fight her cancer

2. Gary Finds out that Danny has a crush on a boy and not a girl

3. Sophie wants to dance at the father daughter dance

4. Danny offers to dance with her

5. Gary Comforts Danny after he feel that his dad suicide is because of him being gay

My summary:

This is really the first real episode where we get more to the story and get introduced top the characters more. The episode starts off with them and their family still mourning the lost of Jon and with questions lingering we can't help but wonder why did he do it? Near the beginning of the episode Gary and Danny were talking and i find it funny because it sounded like such an adult conversation and it went like this

Gary. so tell me how's school going?

Danny: I don't like it I Don't hate it. how's the insurance business?

Gary: Well I do hate but it allows me to afford a car that adult can barley fit in.

And it just shows how their relationship is and how strong it is. After that Gary asks if there is anyone at school he likes, and he hesitated to answer that question. Meanwhile Sophie is upset because the father Daughter dance is coming up and she can not find some one to dance with. In the middle of the episode Danny came out to Gary saying that he feels that dad did it because of him showing his sexuality and gary assured him that dad loved him and will always love him no matter what.

Episode 7 I Dare You

Episode Highlights

1. Danny pretends to go to hang out at the arcade with his soon to be boyfriend Elliot

2.Gary begs Maggie to get Chemo

3. Rome gets a kidney Stone

So this episode is really not my favorite but it is one of the most emotional of the series so far. lets start with Rome after telling his wife that he is struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts he gets as kidney stone, when he goes to the hospital they believe has been overdose due to his suicidal past and they eventually find out that it was indeed a kidney stone. Danny lies to his mom on why he is going to the arcade we will get into that in a bit. Gary dares Maggie to get chemo which she does not want to, this leads to a big fight between her and Gary and ends the date. Danny lies to his mom about going to the arcade which I said that. What I didn't say is when he got his mom ask him about it. I think he was trying tell his mom his sexual orientation then but he didn't have the confident then.

Episode 11 Secrets and Lies

1. Delilah finds out she owes $18 Million

2. Sophie decides not to do the 5k race.

3. Danny comes out as gay to his mom and sister (so cute and a touching moment!)

4. Gary helps Maggie finished the race

This episode is really good with revealing more secrets that jon has been keeping from his family. The first secret is that Jon left the family in deep debt how much you say $18 million in debt. This has come to a surprise because more questions are emerging on what was he hiding and why? Another topic I want to talk about is the suicide prevention 5K run which the family is supposed to take part in until sophie finds out about dads secret of leaving the family in debt and she decide not to run the race and she doesn't want to run the race for someone she didn't even know. That leads me into my next topic Danny also pretending to be someone is isn't and when he Sophie said that this is what happens next. After Sophie didn't want to do the 5K she then had said to Danny "Just because a girl you have a crush on donated to our team does not mean I will do it" and he had to come clean now remember in the early episode Gary is the only person who knows Danny's secret and Gary was trying to change the subject and Danny said Ella is Elliot. And his mom and sister accepted him saying "You will and will never disappoint me for being you" and that was such a good moment. Speaking of good moments Maggie had trouble finishing the 5K and Gary helped it was just a heart warming moment.

Episode 15 The Rock

1. Danny's first real date

2. Danny's date failed

3. Linda (Gary's Friend) Dies

This episode not much secrets where revealed but I want to talk about it

because it is an interesting episode. Let's start by saying that Danny goes on his first Date with Elliott that his mom knows about however the date fails. It was later raveled that the the date failed because Delilah said the boys looks cute together it was later revealed that Elliott is not open about is Sexual Orientation like Danny is so he got freaked when Danny's mom Called him that. Another thing I want to talk about in this episode is that Linda Gary's friend dies and it was off camera but you can still feel the emotion

Episode 17 Goodbye (SPOILER WARNING)

1. Maggie is in remisson

2.Jon's big secret revealed

this is by far the best episode of season 1 let's start off with saying that Maggie's cancer is gone and she is now in remission. Now the moment you have been waiting for the reason jon killed himself was because he was struggling from survivors guilt. Jon's roommate and friend Dave was on the plane flight 11 the flight the struck the world trade center on September 11th 2001. He felt he should have been on that plane too and has blamed himself ever since
